The Medium is The Message - A brief look into 'Part Of Me' by Katy Perry
A lot of things seem pretty trivial…until they don’t. The topic I’m going to write about today seems pretty deep at first look, but hang on…it’s not quite as thoughtful as it seems. Interestingly, this blog post is an example of what I’m trying to talk about. Confusing talk aside, let’s dive into the topic at hand. Today, I’m going to talk about Katy Perry’s chart-topping pop single, Part of Me, which has received a lot of critical acclaim, and I, personally, feel that this song portrays a lot of emotions, particularly through its music video, some of which are lost when listening solely to the song. When I first heard the song, although it did appeal to me considering pop is one of the genres I usually seem to like, but it didn’t come off as much more than a catchy pop song which dealt with the phase after a breakup in a romantic relation.
